Let's all post some recipes and photos of food we're making.

This was my base recipe from when I used to make donuts professionally with my bakery. I used a combination of cinnamon and nutmeg to be able to cut down on the total sugar by about half and still retain the sweetness.

I attached a photo of one of my old, earlier batches.



Cake Donuts

Serves 24

Ingredients

Milk - 1 cp
Granulated Sugar - 1 cp
Eggs - 2 whole
Butter - 3 tbsp

AP Flour - 4 cp
Baking Powder - 3 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
Nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp

Directions

1. Sift together sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and flour.

2. Beat eggs thoroughly and stir into dry ingredients. Add the milk and melted butter.

3. Roll dough until 1/2 inch thick on a floured board and cut with a doughnut cutter.

4. Fry at 375f until nicely browned. Drain, and then dust with granulated or confectioners sugar.

Beef pot roast

Marinaded the roast in red wine, olive oil, coriander, rosemary, sage, salt, pepper.

Cooked in a dutch oven in beef stock for three hours (at 420 degrees) with rutabaga, onion, garlic, carrots, and turnips.

I don't measure with anything but my hand.

Okay, but that looks positively delicious. And done in cast iron LIKE IT SHOULD BE! I bet that tastes positively delectable. <3

My dinner tonight was easy and simple.

layer Ragu pasta sauce, layer shredded mozarella and provalone, layer of pepperoni, layer of penne pasta, layer of rago pasta sauce, layer of pepperoni, layer of mozarella cheese

in a square casserole dish.  oven at 350 for 35 minutes.

It came out really good.

I imagine that would be something great to have after a long day at work, especially if you do the prep beforehand and keep it in the fridge to be cooked afterwards.

it took me less than an hour to prep and cook.  And now I have lunch for the next two days as well.

That's really smart. I might have to try to do that soon; I love stuff I can reheat for the next day or two. I do it sometimes with stews to be honest.
