Yeah. You're unfortunately going to see a lot more of it as time goes on - all of these places got started with venture capitalist funds, and those investors expect a return on their investment. This creates a massive profit motivation and means they will be screwing over the users for the almighty dollar.

Honestly, you can see the signs of it in even more places - look at places like Discord, for example, where they're shoving in Clyde (AI) and starting to push the "community" servers and Nitro even harder than they were before. I expect that platform to become all but unusable in the mid term.

In that case, welcome to the club! This format doesn't have the addiction factor of the infinite scroll so it's genuinely healthier for us, on top of being able to get rid of the trolls and fascists completely.

This was all we had back in the day so I'm readjusting quick. I might actually need to check the news now that I'm not getting it through Supernatural memes. But instead of scrolling Tumblr when I'm on my phone and need something to do, I'm reading PDFs of books.

I set up an RSS aggregator - I think you have access to it, Dove - and that's how I'm getting all my news.

Maybe using this more will help us get our brain rewired for reading. We need to read the Hannibal books.

I remember I tried using forums back when they were the main thing, and I was never great at keeping up w them. I was always better w chatrooms and IRC :/ I'm gonna give this an honest attempt tho, this seems like it could be a fun community :D
